Measure an MCA wallet's monthly result as ending balance + capital deployed + withdrawals − starting balance. Money funded into new deals is still working, so a lower cash balance after heavy funding is not a loss. Realized profit is only counted on closed deals: collections received minus the capital advanced, fees and write-offs.
Why ending minus starting is misleading
Every time a deal is funded, cash leaves the wallet and becomes a receivable. A wallet that funded $75,000 of new deals in a month can show a lower balance while performing well. Adding capital deployed back gives the capital-adjusted change.
Three numbers worth tracking
- Capital-adjusted monthly result — is the wallet growing once deals are counted?
- Realized profit — actual profit on deals that finished paying or were written off.
- In-progress profit — expected profit on open deals, which is not cash yet and can still default.
How much can I withdraw?
The cash you can take out and still start next month at the same balance is the ending balance minus the starting balance, when positive. Money in open deals comes back as they pay.
